Dutch born 52-year-old Eddie Van Halen, after allegedly spending a month in a rehab for alcoholism, is currently on a tour of North America with former Van Halen singer David Lee Roth. The tour kicked off on Sept 28, 2007 in Charlotte to a sell-out crowd of more than 18,000.

Van HalenVan Halen, who has long battled alcoholism and survived a bout with tongue cancer, had this to say to his fans on his official website:

“I have always and will always feel a responsibility to give you my best. At the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best. That’s why I have decided to enter a rehabilitation facility to work on myself, so that in the future I can deliver the 110 percent that I feel I owe you and want to give you.”

And looking at the way Van Halen tickets are getting sold out, Eddie is doing just that!

Wow! This is unbelievable! I thought Eddie and Dave HATED each other. Go figure! I wonder how well they’re getting along now? Hmmm…

    Hi Kelly!

I’m sure many readers might have the same question as yours, so here’s something rollongstone.com posted on Jan 24, 2007:

David Lee Roth Plans to Join Eddie and Alex for Major Summer Tour

The reunion that Van Halen fans have been awaiting for twenty-two years began in December, when David Lee Roth walked into Eddie Van Halen’s Hollywood home studio. There he rejoined the band for a rehearsal, singing fourteen Van Halen classics. “They totally got along on a personal level,” a source close to the reunion says. “And it sounded great.” At press time, Roth and the band were negotiating a deal for a major summer tour…. Good to hear from you again Kelly! Seeing you again is like Eddie seeing David, after such a long time… hehe

Yeah, it’s been a long time, eh? I hope you’re doing well. We need to keep in touch better, don’t we? Thanks for your comment over at my place. Was nice to see a familiar “face” if you know what I mean.

Concerning Van Halen: I think it’s great that they are all getting along nowadays. I remember when they said terrible things about each other in the past and I think I remember Eddie saying he’d ALWAYS hate Dave. I never was much on “Van Hagar” …but I was big Van Halen fan…back in the day - you know, when Dave was with ‘em.
