I think I see what you're saying -- perspectives, some of which are born out of your personality, some out of an estimation of yourself -- all of which build invisible walls, leading to a closed mind.

The paradox is that if I have a closed mind, I'll never see it, but someone else can and will.

Then again, I think the keyword here is 'willingness.' Do I have the willingness to change? If I don't have that, I'll also not have the courage to say I was wrong. And I will continue to believe the Earth is flat.
