I’ve listened to people say their dogs are family members, and I’ve also heard quite a few say “theirs was like a child to them.”

And according to some, dogs are family, not toys. For better of worse, when you sign on for the responsibility of a dog, you have to take care of the dog. You have to play with the dog. You can’t throw it in the backyard and leave it there for days until you decide you have a few spare moments to pet the dog. You just don’t do that.

You take them for walk, you make sure they’re healthy and get their play time, maybe even need a pet groomer at times and a pet-sitter when you have to leave your little puppy alone when you’re ill or need to the evening out.

There will also be times when you have to leave your dog behind when you take a vacation or a work trip. What do you do then?

Do ask around for recommendations, but if you want to do it the professional way, look for a reputed and established dog kennel.

Finding the perfect dog kennel is not be as complicated as you might imagine. You’ll just need to locate a facility in your area, evaluate it by finding out mainly where your dog will live, play and sleep, diets and health and safety issues. That done, make sure your dog will have something to remember you by while you’re away!
