It was not too long ago when I was arguing with my family about the ‘best’ vacation spot in the world, and more than four-fifths (of our small family of six!) voted for Brisbane, Australia. Looking back, it was not too surprising a decision…
Cabel, my wife, was initially concerned about Brisbane hotels, but we took care of that on the Internet from home even weeks before we left. You know, it helps a lot when you know exactly where you’re heading immediately upon landing on foreign shores. Plus, advance booking on the Web means big savings.
We checked out cheaperthanhotels.com.au. This site is what I mean by functionality! The user interface is absoultely inuitive, in the sense that they almost know exactly what you’re looking for, and show you the best options. Apart from the list of hotels with full details of prices and amenities, they also feature instant reservation… something that every international traveler longs for.
I guess I was not a big fan of the Australia as a nation to start with, but I figure I changed my mind when I actually got to Brisbane finally. The first thing I noticed was the splendid weather, which, as I later learned, was equally great year-around. Then of course you can’t miss the Brisbane River that cuts through the city like the Nile in Cairo.
Well, as a tourist visiting Australia, I’ve been asked why would I want to shell out the extra bucks to fly all the way to the southern hemisphere. Well, someone who’s been there will appreciate my answers: it’s a great cultural enrichment, entertainment, it’s just fun and more relaxing than any city in Europe or Asia. And if, for for any reason, you’re worried about accommodation, don’t be! You can find some fantastic deals at Sydney Hotels, Melbourne Hotels or Perth Hotels.
Happy holidays!
