If there’s one medium of communication that I’ve seen which is completely versatile, it’s digital signage. As the terminology states, it is digital, and that is what makes it terribly easy to change content, play animations and hit your target audience at the precise time of the day.
Simply put, it is an out-of-home advertising where your messages are displayed on digital screens. The content can range from simple text and static images to video, with or without sound. For instance, you may want to display flight information and that could be interspersed with advertising clips. Promoting a food item? Demonstrate the recipes on digital signage screens at the food store! Have a massive digital signage screen with rotating ads at the traffic signals where commuters do nothing but stare out their car windows.
Digital signs are not just limited to screens… they may be scrolling message boards, display panels, electronic billboards, or the newer display types like living surfaces or Organic LED screens (OLEDs) that can be controlled remotely with a computer and even through the Internet.
