Of course, choosing a home is a highly subjective/personal matter, since the criteria will vary from person to person. Yet, there are a few truths about the location of your home that are universally held as ‘prerequisites’. For one thing, when I’m chasing my career, I have little options about living in a place of my choice. But buying a home? That’s different.

If you’d ask me, what I’d look for in my home town (when would be, among others, a totally reliable infrastructure for total health care. And then comes the weather, the flora and the fauna (and the beaches thrown in, preferably), ‘prettiness’, vicinity to airports and entertainment options, and not necessarily in that order.

Among a number of options I have examined, Wilmington NC real estate meets the above parameters very close. With less than 100,000 residents, the beautiful port city (between Cape Fear and the Atlantic Ocean) is home to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. It is also home to a regional visual and performing arts center, It also has a sophisticated regional medical center and boasts cultural and arts centers. A great year-round moderate climate will certainly help improve your golf as well. Plus, Wrightsville Beach is the place to be if you love the sand the surf — and seafood.
